Will Alkaline Be Dancehall’s Next Superstar?
A source close to the Dancehall sensation, Alkaline, stated that he is planning to outrank Vybz Kartel in 2016.
It has already been a landmark in Jamaican Dancehall with its biggest star Vybz Kartel convicted of murder and sentenced to serve 35 years to life in prison.
With the anticipation of his new EP “New Level Unlocked,” Alkaline plans to take Vybz Kartel’s Dancehall title, according to a close source to the artiste.
“Listen to mi now! In 2016, Alkaline will prove to the world that he is the baddest thing in Dancehall. He has been working overtime in studios, recording several tracks per day and lowkey shooting multiple music videos. The plan is to outrank “Worl Boss” during the year 2016,” stated sources recently
“Alkaline is planning to release more tracks with more international artistes and of course, this is going to push him far. Tattooing his eye balls was just the beginning, he has more bizarre plans ahead in the next couple months. There are more to his agenda, but for now I have to zip it,” the source also added.
The rail-thin Alkaline can be heard displaying his high-end, nasally voice on recent popular cuts like “ATM,” “Nice Suh ” and “More Than Happy.”
This year his hit “Fleek” has been one of the most popular tunes in dancehall.
However, the deejay may be also mostly known at this point for apparently tattooing his eyeballs black and bleaching his skin to white.
Despite being only 21, Alkaline has reportedly been recording music for almost half a decade now.
Yet it in the past few years there has been a considerable rise in his fame both in Jamaica and beyond with tunes like “Gyal Bruk Out,” “Things Mi Love,” “Move Mountains,” “How It Feel” and his newly-released collaboration with Sean Kingston on “Ride On Me (Remix).”
Alkaline has recently released a single titled “Object Bingo,” which many fans are claiming to be a diss track aimed Vybz Kartel
After which Vendetta deejay released “Champion Boy” where once again he took a few shots at the sprint legend as well as incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel.
“Man a born sheller / Mi a the god damn bwoy / That’s why everybody hate the champion bwoy / Have a rich gyal in a the anthans bwoy / Dem wish a never me did a the champion bwoy.”
The track which is featured on the new Fire Starta Riddim produced by Dj Sunshine’s Yellow Moon Records comes days after the World’s fastest man took subliminal shots at the “ATM” deejay during his Disc jock set as “Dj Usain” at the recently staged Uptown Mondays anniversary.
The deejay seems prime to take his talents to an international superstar level and 2016 might be the year.
